Job Description
Affinity Trust’s Support Workers receive excellent training to meet the needs of the people we support, including access to NVQs and a range of other training.
Support Workers are expected to work in a person-centred way, providing high quality support which enables the people we support to live full and valued lives as members of their local communities. This includes assisting and enabling them with personal care, looking after their homes and participating in a range of meaningful activities both at home and in their local community.
Support Workers are required at the following locations:
2 Beech Close Dunstable 37.5 hrs and 22.5 hrs
This is a service for 6 gentlemen previously resettled from a long stay hospital, some of whom can be challenging. The service will be changing over the next 18 months to a supported living model of provision and we need staff who can work in person-centred ways leading to positive changes in the lives of the people we support.
3 Beech Close Dunstable 37.5 hrs
The 6 people who live in this service all have learning disabilities and also have physical disabilities or dementia, so their needs are constantly changing. Providing support to them is physically demanding, yet very rewarding. The service will be moving to a new location in Dunstable within the next 18 months and staff will be expected to move to this new location.
Woodlands, Luton 37.5 hrs
The 5 people who live at Woodlands have learning disabilities and visual impairments and some also have physical disabilities. The service is due to change over the next 18 months and may move to a new location within Luton, so staff will be expected to move with the people we support.
Calverton Lodge, Luton 37.5 hrs
Calverton Lodge provides a respite service for people with learning disabilities. It is a 5 bedded service giving over 20 families a much-needed break and includes a day service offering a range of activities at home and in the community.
Also required Casual Bank Workers at a £6.90 rate across various locations across Luton & Dunstable.
